Everyday First Aid for the public/community groups – 2+ hours
These courses are for members of the public who want to learn how to deal with accidents and injuries on different levels and can be tailored to your group depending on your requirements and time available.
Basic First Aid (without CPR) – 2+ hours
Everyday first aid skills for accidents around the home and when you're out and about - this does not include resuscitation or CPR and usually covers:
- Incident management
- Looking after yourself and the casualty
- Treatment of minor bleeding and minor burns
- Treatment of an unconscious casualty
- Treatment of a choking casualty
- Treatment of fainting, bites and stings, sprains and strains
Basic First Aid (with CPR) – 2+ hours
This course is ideal if you would like to be trained in CPR skills and know what to do when initially faced with an emergency with more serious conditions and incidents involving an adult:
- Incident management
- Looking after yourself and the casualty
- Adult resuscitation
- Treatment of choking in adults
- Treatment of severe bleeding and chest pains
- Treatment of an unconscious casualty
Please note that these courses teach you up-to-date first aid techniques, but do not allow you to act as the recognised first aider at your place of work. Minimum requirement for this is the 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work course.
